Update

Wed Dec 12, 2007, 9:38 AM
Just giving everyone an update since I haven’t actually used DeviantArt in a long, long time. I’ll try and load some pieces from my drawing class (though few of them are actually impressive). I started school at Truman State University in August, and I’ve been taking Drawing I, Design I, and Nonwestern art (as my art-related classes, anyway). I’m looking to study art education.

Next semester, I’m taking Fibers I with Drawing II, Design II, contemporary art, and art in Europe and America. I’m ridiculously excited for Fibers I. Albeit might not be the most practical major to pursue, I can really see myself having a passion for it if I’m any good at it. I’ve always been drawn to fabrics. Always drawn to pretty prints and dyes, handmade plushies or wall hangings and whatnot. And looking back on it, I remember myself constantly trying to make dolls out of things. With my tiny miniscule amount of sewing know-how, this might be the right path for me. I can’t see myself JUST painting after I see the beautiful things that come out of the fibers studio here. Naturally, with education I have to take the beginning level courses of every area of focus (sculpture, print-making, painting, ceramics, etc). But aside from painting, I don’t see myself being good at any of those things—anything but fibers. Which is why I’m excited.

Very very excited.

I love your gallery. From your art style, I could tell that you were Hannablefractor from the AFI boards.

Also, thank you for the comment. That piece did take alot of time but less than the usual.
:iconnannermal:
Haha thanks. I'm actually Hannablefector, but it's an honest mistake. Thanks again for the comment.

I took a peak through your gallery... Your portraits have certainly changed since you first started submitting. They Have progressed a lot and are now extremely good. I'm impressed by your use of charcoal... I use charcoal myself and I have a hard time with skin and keeping it smooth (so I usually do animals.. hehe). Very impressive work, and a beautiful gallery!
